Looking for Murdercycle clues
A young man is out riding his dirt bike in the country and finds himself at a secret military base. A small meteor crashes nearby so he goes to check it out, as does the single soldier that has been guarding this small base. When the cyclist finds the chunk of rock it cracks open and some alien technology attacks and transforms him and his bike into the unstoppable Murdercycle, and it promptly decides to murder that lone soldier!

Sergent Kirby, who is currently suspended from the military for past mistakes, is called in to lead a team on a top secret mission to investigate the base. The team consists of a few Privates, a forensic doctor, a telepathic named Dr. Lee, and a mysterious CIA agent, Mr. Wood.

Murdercycle hates fences !
As they patrol the base (which might just be a few shacks in the forest,) we learn more about each of the characters and they actually all have some depth to them. Soon enough, Murdercycle shows up and lots of gunshots and laser blasts are traded, and then he just rides off again. This repeats itself a few times but the action is fun, even if a bit pointless at times.
This really is more than just a typical alien movie, because the main focus is on the character interactions. Everyone and everything has something to hide, and as secrets and truths are revealed trust is gained or lost among the team. Sgt. Kirby has his hands full trying to keep everyone alive, while also uncovering what Mr. Wood is hiding about the base. Dr. Lee's psychic powers come in handy at detecting Murdercycle, but also adds a layer of tension in the team.

"A close encounter of the totally lethal kind." - Coletta

The movie is a bit smarter than the average action B-movie, but still retains the cheap, good-time feel that you'd expect. The stakes are raised when all the truths are revealed, but it also kept me laughing with random bursts of alien-murder-cycling action.

Be sure not to miss:
- The phrase "murdercycle" is only used once (but I totally cheered,) instead they just refer to it as The Rider.
- During one of the most tense scenes between Kirby and Wood there's a nearby bird chirping merrily away at an incredible volume.
- The alien here is even more of a Predator rip off than Xtro 3 was, except he's on a motorbike.

Internet review:
"Murdercycle is the sort of movie that a 12-year-old boy would get a kick out of." - SteveM

Should I watch it?
Yeah, it's surprisingly good. I think we all need some Murdercycle in our lives.
