He's here to kick ass !
The movie starts with two prisoners in a penal colony on the moon, fighting with industrial buzzsaws! One of them dies when he gets slashed open, but instead of blood he's full of white goo. The other man, Adrian Dunn, then gets bitten by a tentacle that flies out of the dead guy and he dies too. But once his body gets shipped back to Earth, he awakens!
The year is 2009, and Earth has been shrouded in a cloud of ash. This is effective world building, as the constant state of gloom adds to the gritty noir feel of the movie. Detective Cameron Grayson is a tenacious cop with "black shield" privileges that allow him to override or ignore any order from his boss. Grayson does what's needed to catch the bad guys!

Dunn has been infected with an alien virus that controls his mind, and he kills and rapes people that get in his way. Once the police realize Dunn is alive, Grayson eagerly takes the case. He seems to have some serious unfinished business with Dunn, and will do anything to stop him. The evidence of the virus gets biologist Doctor Younger involved to help find the truth. She doesn't like Grayson at first, but they get a bit romantic as they learn to trust each other.

Space face.

All the actors do a pretty good job, but since the movie is played very serious Roddy doesn't get to use his charisma for much fun. There's also only one scene with real alien action in it, since Dunn's "transformation" is basically just him looking like a sick homeless guy.
I'm quite sure that I saw the original full version of the movie, but it really seems like important scenes are missing. Feeling disoriented by the story, I was forced to make assumptions about some of the stuff going on. There are a few interesting ideas that work well, but the movie has problems with plot holes and poorly explained details.

Be sure not to miss:
- Your confusion coming and going in waves.
- That dildo knife. Where did it come from? And why? A missing scene?
- How come no one was shocked when the prisoner at the start was full of alien goo instead of blood?

Internet review:

Should I watch it?
There's nothing terribly wrong with the movie, but I was left feeling unsatisfied.

Where can I find it?
A couple veoh links here. But the version on YouTube is very poor quality.
