Mandroid
A shrewd scientist named Reeves is working on a time travel machine, and he uses a cyborg named Mandroid as a test dummy. But when Reeves plans to dismantle him, Mandroid escapes and seeks out a scientists named Nora Hunter, hoping that she can help him understand who he used to be as a man.

Nora realizes that her research was used to make Mandroid, so she agrees to help him stop Reeves's evil schemes, but they're going to need to make an adventure into deep jungle to find the mad scientist's hidden laboratory.

Along with a little robot buddy named Spot, they head to central America and hire a charismatic guide named Fontana to help them navigate through the jungle, and the group begin their dangerous and action packed adventure.

Not only do they have to contend with Reeves' henchmen trying to stop them, they also get captured by mysterious cave men because it seems that Reeves has succeeded in making a time travel device! Along the way they get help from a ninja named Kuji, who also wants revenge against Reeves for his own reasons. But can this rag-tag team of misfits stop the ever-increasing power of the mad Reeves!?

We got robots, we got cave men, we got kung-fu!" - Fontana

Reeves
This movie was a really fun ride, with a variety of action or wackiness always happening on screen, but it still took itself seriously enough that it doesn't fly off the rails into absurdity. The plot may be simple but it moves fast, and the characters are quite likeable instead of just one dimensional cliches.

They really created an Indiana Jones style of adventure, intermixed with cheesy science fiction and the general insanity that all good B movies have. All the pieces are put together with skill, so everything makes sense instead of just a jumble of ideas on screen for no reason.

I had a blast with this one, and I really wish they had made a sequel.

Be sure not to miss:
- Kuji's fishing skills.
- I think Mandroid's fedora is supposed to be made of metal.
- Spot is the real MVP here. He does a lot more than expected considering his small size.

Internet review:
"This is a perfect Sunday afternoon matinee type of film." - Marklongden
