At first glance Molly Stewart seems like a typical 15 year old girl attending prep school, but she has a secret life that her classmates know nothing about. Every night Molly walks Hollywood Blvd. as a prostitute named Angel! Orphaned at a young age, she's had to learn how to survive on her own but she's got enough street-smarts to keep herself sober and out of jail.Angel's not entirely alone though, she has some eccentric friends that keep an eye on her, namely Mae and Kit. It's a good thing, too, because the cops are looking for a "psycho necro killer" that has been targeting young prostitutes and no one should be alone on the streets anymore.
We learn about the killer right away, and his weirdo cred is firmly established because when he's not killing girls he spends his free time sucking eggs... (Hey, the killer in Laser Moon also loved eggs!)
There's very little plot for awhile as we just learn about how Angel balances her schoolwork with her nighttime job. The movie keeps it realistic, not shying away from the sleazy ugliness of the city streets, and this dark mature tone helps keep it interesting.
Lt. Andrews is the cop in charge of finding the psycho killer, and he tries to keep the community calm while the body count rises. He also takes an interest in Angel, suspecting that she needs more help than she's willing to admit. As Angel's double-life starts to crash down around her, and the crazy killer is getting out of control, she needs to take drastic measures if she wants to survive!

| Mae Kit |
Despite this being a rather grim story about life on the streets, it still has room for some laughs. Mae and Kit provide colorful levity but the plot always remains pretty thin, often aiming for tame melodrama instead of anything truly profound. It feels like a lot of the potential was wasted, and the killer is far too generic, but I liked it enough that I'll have to watch the sequel.
Be sure not to miss:
- Donna Wilkes was actually 24 years old during filming.
- "Fruit with Gun"
- Kit's magnificent moustache cannot be tamed.
Internet review:
"It's not a perfect movie, but we all know that perfection is for egg-sucking sickos." - lancifer
Should I watch it?
It's not terrible, but a bit too dull.
Where can I find it?
