This has nothing to do with the previous Curse movie I just reviewed. I think they just had the same studio.

Clark and Lisa are two lovebirds driving across Arizona on vacation, and despite warnings from the locals they decide to take a shortcut through an uninhabited section of the desert. The area is abandoned because local bomb testings have driven all the snakes crazy, and it's not long before Clark gets bitten on the hand by a snake!

Harry
Rushing to the nearest town they get help from Doc Harry, and it seems that everything will be fine with a little antivenom. Lisa and Clark continue their road trip, but Harry realizes too late that Clark's life is still in danger, so he rallies together a few of his trucker friends to search for the couple.

Clark is indeed sick. He's becoming violent and weird, as his hand starts to transmogrify under its bandage and the pain drives him mad. Lisa begs him to get help, but the real terror begins when his hand grows into a killer snake with a mind of its own!!
Clark becomes a fugitive, and Lisa's the only one that believes there's still a good man connected to the snake-hand-monster...
Things get crazy! Like, rrrreeeally crazy!

There's a lot to enjoy here, and the awesome monster effects are only part of it. Borrowing from The Fly, the story focuses on the tragic love between Lisa and Clark as he becomes a monster that he cannot control. The first half establishes the characters well, so when the wacky shit hits the fan we honestly want to see Clark and Lisa survive.

It's not a dour story though, because The Bite definitely knows when to have a sense of humor. The excellent cast handles the creepy nonsense with style, and the final 20 minutes really blew my mind with intense snake splatter thrills.
This move exudes confidence in knowing exactly what it is, and delivers the payoff with flair.

Be sure not to miss:
- Harry's business card is also a sponge. What the heck?
- Sydney Lassick has a small role... playing the same character he usually does.
- What exactly did the snake do to those panties?
- The truckers are named Big Flo, Death Wish and Beef.

Internet review:
"Some of the best freakish snake mutant jiggery pokery I've ever seen." - t-birkhead

Should I watch it?
