This is a sequel in name only, but it's just as crazy as the first one.

Doctor Neil Hamilton is a busy biochemist working from his lab on a university campus, but he gets a call from a colleague that has a BIG problem on her hands... She tested an experimental growth serum on an 8-year old boy, and now he's grown to be 12 feet tall!!
(And yes, we get to see this crazy kid in action.)
Now Neil is tasked with the job of finding a cure for the serum, so he heads back to his lab for an epic research montage.

Working at the same campus is Dr. Delhurst, he's a snob that's trying to find a cure for cancer, which means he's often experimenting on (and killing) live animals in his lab. This has a group of students protesting on campus and vandalizing Delhurt's lab. One of these students is Alex, Neil's girlfriend.

Neil tests the serum on some tomatoes and as expected they grow to be quite large, but he's still unable to create an antidote for the boy. That night the students break into the lab to "rescue" the lab rats, and the first thing the rats do with their freedom is munch on those big tomatoes.

Alex                                        Dr. Delhurst

It's not long before rapidly growing killer rats are taking over the university. Meanwhile, the ignorant Dean of the campus is in denial of the danger, and Delhurst is busy scheming with the serum. Undeterred, Neil grabs his shotgun and prepares for war against the rats!

Although the start is a bit slow, once the rats get in motion this is a totally crazy movie. There's a great balance of unrestrained B-movie insanity alongside the increasing tension of a decent thriller. Despite the characters all taking the events seriously, the movie knows how to have fun and isn't afraid to deliver some gory mayhem and wack scenarios. It's a recipe for pure gold.

Be sure not to miss:
- Neil's dream. It's seriously one of the most fucked-up things I have ever seen!
- The badass exterminator with a flamethrower. We needed more of him.
- The music is some of the cheesiest 80's synth imaginable.
Jackie Burroughs has a small role.
- RATS ENOUGH!

Internet review:
"If you love bad movies, then HO-O-O-O-LY SHIT do you need to see this." - WizardJones
