Gentry
Someone has been killing the go-go dancers that work at a local nightclub, but nobody has a clue on who the crazed serial killer might be.

Nancy Weston, a reporter for the local newspaper, tracks down a prominent private detective named Abraham Gentry, hoping to hire him onto the case. After some persuading, Gentry agrees to take the job even though he's not too keen on having Nancy follow him around so that she can get the story for the paper.

Gentry is quite a character, being both sleazy and debonair at the same time, but he takes his job very serious and he's soon following the clues and questioning patrons of the nightclub... All of this leads him nowhere, as the movie reveals there's not going to be much plot here.

There are a few too many scenes where girls are just dancing on stage, which are clearly meant to distract the audience from the lack of plot. They're a nuisance, because everyone in the audience bought their ticket for gore, not ass jiggling.
Anyways, Lt. Anderson is the cop working the murder case but he's not much help, and to add to the trouble there's an angry group of feminists getting in the way of Gentry's job as they protest the nightclub.

Nancy: "Do you try to be a jerk or does it just - "
Gentry: "It comes naturally."

Since this is a Herschell Gordon Lewis movie, the hellacious murder scenes are what make the movie so unforgettable, because the 'Godfather of Gore' always delivers the best over-the-top deaths.

There's no denying this movie is pure sleazy, trash cinema, but it's of the highest caliber of trash with gore that is both repulsive and hilarious at the same time. There's also no denying the humour here, it might be sick and twisted humour, but it is intended to generate laughs nonetheless.
Frank Kress' performance is also a highlight, he's so bizarre and cocky that he makes even the simplest scene a bit demented.

Something bad is about to happen

Setting aside the gore-fest, the movie can be rather dull at times; but the cheesy acting, goofy dialog and peculiar silliness kept me interested even when nothing was really happening. The movie has enough inherent eccentricities to make me not too concerned with the moments of boredom.

Be sure not to miss:
- I never thought I'd see a meat tenderizer used on a butt.
- Lt. Anderson sure hates photographers.
- The ending.

Internet review:
"One of the sickest, sleaziest movies it has been my pleasure to witness." - NoelGross

Should I watch it?
It's a trash classic, but definitely not for casual viewers.
