Bottom of the Barrel: Exhibit #11

A big group of horny teenagers are having fun camping in the woods, but there's something weird going on that is going to place them all in danger. Aliens have landed nearby and they begin abducting the teens to perform medical tests on them in a nearby abandoned hospital!
You think the movie might slowly build suspense and reveal that big secret conspiracy later, but no, we learn everything within the first 5 minutes.
The main kids we follow are Ron, Heather and Nancy. When they're not busy partying or smooching, they begin to wonder where their friends have disappeared to, and that's when they meet the two stars of the show...

Ron, Heather, Nancy

The alien people barely leave the hospital (or actually do much of anything,) so they hire these two bumbling mechanics to kidnap the kids, and although these guys do have some menace to them they're played with humour and become the highlight of the whole movie.
There's barely any story to follow, as the movie bounces between the kid's constant partying and the mechanics lurking around in complete darkness to capture the occasional victim. This drags on forever.

The premise is that of a horror movie and there is an attempt at some tension, but it does not work. The entire movie is littered with lame softcore sex scenes that kill any spooky vibes, and you have to wait until the very end for there to be any real killing.
I really got the sense that the director just wanted to film his fetishes instead of actually make a movie.

The most boring aliens in the universe

The best aspect is that it's easy to find laughs. The dialog is often nonsense, the acting is wildly all over the place, and the bizarre tone of exuberant confusion creates an enjoyable mish-mash of sloppy exploitation cinema.
Not enjoyable enough to fully recommend, but I'm glad to have see it anyways.

Be sure not to miss:
- The aliens are played by big names: John CarradineTina Louise and Julie Newmar. But like I said, they barely get anything to do.
- Yes, that is the Millennium Falcon on the VHS box art.
