Abby
The evil scientist Arcane survived the first movie, and now he's busy trying to recreate the formula that birthed Swamp Thing. He's made all sorts of monstrous specimens in the process, but Arcane's real goal is to unlock the formula's rejuvenation abilities, because he is slowly dying and needs the science to save himself.
We meet Arcane's step-daughter, Abby, but she is nothing like him. Abby is innocent and kind, and she's coming to visit Arcane to get answers about her mother's mysterious death.

There's actually very little of Swamp Thing in the first half, as he's just hiding in the forest, but we see that he's protecting his home from the twisted monsters that have escaped from Arcane's lab, and this gives the chance for some crazy fight scenes.

Arcane
Abby eventually gets into trouble in the swamps, and good old Swampy is there to rescue her. She's fascinated by him instead of terrified, and he explains to her the truth of Arcane's evil ways. When Arcane realizes they've been spending time together, he devises a wicked plan to finally destroy Swamp Thing and get the formula for his own selfish needs.

There are also two young boys that get caught-up in the story. They're here mostly for comedic relief, which might sound annoying but they actually work quite well. Heck, it's even true to the source material, if I remember correctly.

Despite the first half mostly being set-up for the second half, it's never boring and constantly remains fun, and when the action does get going it's a total blast. They really embraced the fantastic weirdness here, and the movie is made better for it. There's even more energetic B movie vibes than the first one had, which creates a campy atmosphere while still being a solid story that makes sense.

"It's monster central around here tonight!" - Darryl

They spared no expense on the special effects this time. Swamp Thing is much more detailed, and there's a handful of other freaky monsters that are a real treat to see in action. One of the weak points of the first movie was the lack of fights, but this time we get too see Swampy kick a lot of butt.

Some people seem to dislike this movie because isn't as serious as the first, but I think it's a great sequel.
It took everything from the first movie and made it bigger, weirder and more colourful.

Be sure not to miss:
- The other Elephant Man.
- The saucy parrot.
Monique Gabrielle has a small role. She's one my favorite B movie actresses.

Internet review:
"Highly enjoyable, intentionally cheesy B-Movie." - Vampenguin

Should I watch it?
Highly recommended.
