The Australian neighbourhood of Pebbles Court is home to the usual suburban families, but one day their peace is interrupted when a crazed man crashes his car on their street, while his body transforms into a puddle! He dies before he's able to warn the people in the community that the Vimuvial pharmaceutical company are secretly testing a dangerous new drug on them.
Throw subtlety out the window! Most of the thin plot is explained in the first two minutes, but it's also established that the movie has a dark sense of humour and we should not be taking it too seriously.

| Dr. Carrera Shaan Det. Philips |
Detective Philips is on the case of the car crash, which leads him to questioning the people at Vimuvial. The spokeswoman, Shaan, plays innocent, but we know that her and Dr. Carrera are plotting sinister experiments on the unaware public.
The residents of Pebbles Court begin to have hallucinations and although there's not really any story involved with these people, it's fun, suspenseful and weird to watch them all slowly losing their minds. We also meet a bizarre family of freaks out in the country led by a man named Pud, who is mysteriously connected to Vimuvial.

"The first phase is hallucinogenic...
The second phase is glandular...
The second phase is glandular...
Third phase is AAARRRGGHH!! " - Ryan
This is one of the grossest movies I've watched in awhile, but it was a real fun treat! Despite some problems keeping the story established, it stays entertaining by the sheer amount of demented weirdness. The mix of humour and gore reminded me a lot of Peter Jackson's early films, with some Frank Henenlotter style added in too.
The makeup and special effects are very well done, creating some twisted and memorable death scenes. Exploding penises, a killer placenta, tentacles, and copious amounts of putrid slime will have you laughing and cringing at the same time!
This is splatter satire done well enough to please any fans of wacky gross-out gore.
Be sure not to miss:
- Was the bodybuilder's voice actually that squeaky?
- Don't drink dishwashing detergent and drive.
- Eating kangaroo adrenal glands will fuck you up.
